The New Zealand Demolition and Asbestos Association (NZDAA) is a non-profit society which is established to maintain and extend the interests of the professional Demolition and Asbestos industry throughout New Zealand. The underlying Principles of the Association are to widely promote; through leadership; excellent commercial health, safety, environmental and quality performance for better outcomes for workers, businesses and the community. The Funding & Advocacy position is newly established and reports to the President, Vice President and also works with the Secretary. The primary objective of this position is to offer added leadership and guidance to the NZDAA, the Industry, Stakeholders, Government, NGOs, and our Members. They will focus on devising plans to expand fundraising efforts, championing and advocating for the industry, and create and oversee top-notch domestic programs in business, worker and environmental sustainability and wellbeing.
Qualifications & Experience

Specific industry knowledge and experience is not essential but is beneficial.

Demonstrable leadership skills.

Strong strategic capability.

Proven ability of achieving organisational goals.

Demonstrated high level of interpersonal goals and stakeholder management.

Knowledge and experience of funding avenues and successful application.

Demonstrated experience advocating to Government.

Experience working with the media beneficial.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Tasks & Responsibilities

Collaborates with the Associations President and Vice President to develop clear strategies that meet with the Association’s purpose as defined in its rules and implements that vision.

Develops high performing fundraising strategies which are cost effective implemented by the team. Ensure that fundraising goals are achieved.

Helps establish strong, trusted stakeholder relationships that can be leveraged to help deliver results e.g., WorkSafe, ACC, MBIE, CHASNZ, Site Safe, NGOs and others we collaborate with.

Develop and maintain a strong, positive brand reputation of the NZDAA.

Develop clear strategies for NZDAA programmes. Engage with funding providers to support programmes where required.

In collaboration with the President and Vice President acting as an external advocate for the Association ensuring key messages for the goals of the Association are heard.
